興趣:

血管新生(Angiogenesis)在人類的生理過程如:胚胎的發育、傷口的癒合、和女性的月經週期有關。而血管新生是一個同時受到血管新生抑制與促進劑之間劑量的抗衡所控制複雜的生理過程。當這個平衡失去控制,將會導致許多病變如腫瘤的生長與蔓延。雖然近三十年來,已有許多的臨床前實驗證明血管新生和惡性腫瘤的發生和轉移有著密切不可分的關係,但截至目前為止只有幾種抗血管新生的藥物上市,最大原因是因為科學家對於這些藥物如何抑制血管新生之抑制機轉不清楚,就傖促進入人類臨床實驗。由此可知探討這些藥物與疾病致病的分子機轉的重要性。目前實驗室的研究方向包括: 1)探討蛋白質磷酸脢表現失調在血管新生與血管性病所扮演的角色。2)口腔癌於近年來雖已躍居十大癌症死因的第五位,但其致病機制仍不清楚。實驗室長期透過與臨床醫師合作,結合細胞及分子生物的技術,探討微環境交戶作用(含發炎細胞浸潤與血管新生)在口腔黏膜上皮細胞癌化所扮演的角色。3)癌症是無法癒合的傷口,因此利用基因轉殖或剔除鼠作皮膚疾病模式來探討該基因於皮膚傷口癒合角色的探討與藥物研發。

  方向:

目前的研究方向主要有三:

(1)利用RNA干擾技術找尋調控血管新生有關之基因及其作用的分子機轉。藉由了解其分子機制,渴望協助新藥發展及對因血管新生失控的疾病作有效治療。

(2)口腔癌於近年來雖已躍居十大癌症死因第五位 雖然腫瘤的微環境在腫瘤生長與轉移扮演重要的角色其於口腔癌的仍不清楚。目前正利用動物模式及分子細胞生物等技術探討其於口腔上皮的癌化所扮演的角色並進一步探討結合抗血管新生療法與現有的癌症治療在治療口腔癌可能性。

(3) 已知癌症被視為是無法癒合的傷口,因此利用基因轉殖或剔除鼠作皮膚疾病模式來探討該基因於皮膚傷口癒合角色的探討與藥物研發。
